From Christianity to Scientology

It is interesting to note how many different religions there are, it must be quite confusing for people.  One fun thing that beliefnet.com has is a Belief-O-Matic quiz.  Now, I think it depends who worked out the questions, but the results can be interesting too.  When you get your results you are given a link to the religions that your answers relate to.  Some people talk about it on their blogs:

           I am a Pariah

       Davblog

       Andyandlizette

       Robson Ryan's Rants

       The Vengeful Cynic

So thought I'd show you how it goes.
Here are some examples of the pages that Beliefnet offer:

       New Age

       Bahá'í Faith

       Hinduism

       Scientology

Freedom Magazine

Freedom Magazine is produced by the various Churches of Scientology around the world, including the Church of Scientology International.

                                                                Freedom Magazine

This magazine covers a wide variety of subjects but all centered around indepth investigations into violations of human rights.

Human rights is a subject that Scientologists are passionate about.  An office was set up in Brussels specifically to address human rights issues in the European sector.

There have been a number of human rights atrocities unearthed in Europe, some specific German issues are cited on this Scientology human rights site.  The Marburg Journal of Religion also goes into human rights in Europe.

While we are on the subject of Europe, there is also a Dutch site that goes into the detail of the Church's actions to uphold its legal rights.

Churches of Scientology: Battling Drug Abuse Internationally

Along with many other concerned non-profit organizations, the Church of Scientology International works intently on solving the problem of drugs that destroys lives, families and societies.

For an international flavor see the stories here about the Anti-Drug Honor Roll.

All around the world, through Church sponsored programs, through these community programs  thousands of children and adults sign on the honor roll pledging to be Drug-Free.

There are drug prevention programs running in European countries, that are getting a very high rate of success.  These sort of programs should be supported.

What's more important that teaching our children the dangers of drugs and preventing them from falling into the trap later in life?

Scientology Honor Roll

As with any organization, there is a membership organization that the Churches of Scientology support.

There are different levels of support and participation, more information is here Membership in the Association

Also, anyone who is in agreement with the Aims of Scientology, even if he does not attend a Church of Scientology or participate in its religious services may, support the Association.

There is more information on this new web site about the International Association of Scientologists

Again, it lists out the statuses and goes more in to the details of the purpose of the Association.

Scientology Parishioners

Okay, so we have talked about the subject, the religion and now I would like to tell you about the people.

Scientologists are everyday people, doing everyday things.  They apply the Scientology philosophy to their life daily and use it to be more successful, healthy and happy.

Scientologists get involved in many community activities and tend to be unselfish people willing to give their time to help other.

If you have a look on this site you will see for your self that Scientologists are normal caring people.  I know, because I'm one of them.

The Freewinds in the Caribbean

Moving right along, from March talking about Australia, here we are in June and now I want to talk about the Caribbean.

There are a lot of beautiful yachts on the sea, but here a couple that I felt worth talking about.

Firstly, there is an elegant charter yacht, here is some info on it"

"With Freewinds Yacht Charter you have the freedom to discover the mystical magic of the Cornish Coast from the Cornish West Indies (Isle of Scilly) to the jewel of the Helford; a haven by Royal Charter. Other islands near or far may interest you, if so, please give Freewinds the opportunity to supply the service."

And the links to this one are

Freewinds      and        Another Freewinds page

Okay, now there is also another magnificent ship that carries the name "Freewinds" with pride:

Another "Freewinds"

I also found photos of the Freewinds on Russian domains, a bit slow loading and it depends how good your Russian is, but here they are - amazing how many Russian sites there are:

Now the vessel "Freewinds" cruises the Carribean and one of the ports it frequents is Curacao.  They contribute to the colorful flavor of this area of the world, see here:

They also visit Bonaire Freewinds in Bonaire

and BarbadosFreewinds in Barbados

Here are pages giving info on the Freewinds, detailing how the Freewinds, operates out of her home port in the Caribbean, far from the turbulent crossroads of the world and offers Scientologists the highest levels of spiritual advancement:

What is Scientology?in 14 Languages

As the internet is in fact VERY international, that is anyone from any where can "log on" and surf websites from around the world, it does not really matter what corner -- part of the world they are searching from. That is why I thought I would add some resources on the Church of Scientology that -- while by far not all -- most people will be able to understand. Here you go "What is Scientology?" in 14 languages:
What is it Scientology? | Hvad er Scientologi? | Was ist Scientology? | Wat is Scientology? | Que es Cienciologia? | Qu'est-ce que la Scientologie? | Che cos’č Scientology? | Japanese What is it Scientology? | Mi a Szcientológia? | Hva er Scientologi? | Vad är Scientologi? | Σαηεντολογίας | Саентология | כנסיית הסיינטולוגיה

What is Scientology about?

Developed by L. Ron Hubbard, Scientology is a religion that offers a precise path leading to a complete and certain understanding of one’s true spiritual nature and of one’s relationship with self, family, groups, mankind, all life forms, the material universe, the spiritual universe and the Supreme Being, or infinity.

Scientology addresses the spirit — not simply the body or mind — and believes that man is far more than a product of his environment, or his genes.

Scientology comprises a body of knowledge which extends from certain fundamental truths. Prime among these are:

Man is an immortal spiritual being.

His experience extends well beyond a single lifetime.

His capabilities are unlimited, even if not presently realized.

Scientology further holds man to be basically good, and that his spiritual salvation depends upon himself and his fellows and his attainment of brotherhood with the universe.

Scientology is not a dogmatic religion in which one is asked to believe anything on faith. An individual discovers for himself that Scientology works by applying its principles and observing or experiencing the results.

The ultimate goal of Scientology is true spiritual enlightenment and freedom for the individual.
